By Jeff Petersen

The Sharks aim to make it four wins in a row as they take on the Manly Sea Eagles on Sunday afternoon at Brookvale.

Many fans have tagged the boys “the comeback kings” and rightly so, after yet another superb effort last week away to the Cowboys.

Meanwhile all eyes will be focused on the Battle of the Beaches clash this weekend with both teams having different agendas. Cronulla are pushing to consolidate a position in the top eight, while Manly continue their struggles to get out of what for them is an unprecedented slump.

Earlier encounters show that these are tighter in score line than previously revealed, with 43 of the 84 meetings won by a margin of 10 points or less. The Sharks/Sea Eagles dossier has our record at Brookvale at five wins and a draw from 37 starts since 1967, however despite the overwhelming stat, the Sharks current form has them confident they can prevail.

Many significant Club Records have also come out of these attack-driven games. Clearly the two Grand Finals appearances in 1973 and 1978 stand out prominently. Other proud records are the Sharks Biggest Ever Win; 68-6 in Round 24, August 21st, 2005. This match also delivered the Biggest Winning Margin in a Game (62pts); the Most Total Team Tries in a Game for the Sharks (12 tries) and equalling the Most Goals in a Game (10 goals), scored by one of our most prolific points scorers of all time in Luke Covell.
