Sharks centre Gerard Beale believes the bye round weekend has done him and his teammates the world of good in the build up to this weekend’s local derby against the St George Illawarra Dragons.

Speaking with Sharks TV, Beale said his teammates were refreshed after taking a few days off from training and feeling good leading into the clash with the table-topping Dragons.

“It was good. I think the week off came at perfect time,” he said.

Having joined the Sharks at the beginning of the 2015 season from the Dragons, Beale is all too familiar with the side he will line-up against this Sunday and believes the clash will be big for both clubs.

“I think it’s a massive game. I guess when I was at the Dragons, all the boys really look forward to the game against the Sharks so now I’m in the Sharks colours I can’t wait to play them,” he said.

Beale believes it would be great for Sharks supporters to make the journey to Jubilee Oval this Sunday, May 31 and join the ‘Sea Of Blue’.

“It’ll be massive. I know their Dragons are really big on their fans and getting behind it and to see a ‘Sea Of Blue’ out there will give us a big kick and it’d be awesome.”
