It was a weekend of NRL football which saw some teams step up to the plate, others disappoint and the Sharks reign (pun intended) supreme against the Rabbitohs in dismal conditions on Monday night.

Often mirroring the team results are the performances of the players within those teams, with Fantasy NRL coaches around the country hanging on the tackles, hit ups, run metres and points scored by individuals each week.

Trying to make a little bit of sense of the NRL Fantasy League is the Sharks ‘coaching expert’ Megan Potts with a weekly update.

Read about who Megan thinks are the must-have players, the players to trade and the highest points-getters from the weekend of matches just past.

If you haven't already got a team in the NRL Fantasy league it's not too late.

Do you have what it takes to be a coach, if you think you do put together a team and give it a go! But beware its addictive.

The countdown is on to rep footy and the bye rounds are just around the corner, so all trades should be done with careful consideration from this point on.

Some solid performances this week included Jake Granville (Cowboys hooker) topping the board with an impressive 84 points.

Cowboys fullback Lachlan Coote is proving to be a good buy with a price rise of $33,000 so far and an average of 46pts per round.

Other usual Fantasy standouts in Ben Hunt 17pts (Broncos) and Shaun Kenny-Dowall 18pts (Roosters) under performed massively compared to the last couple of weeks scores.

Sharks top performers were Luke Lewis with 63, Jason Bukuya with 61 and Michael Ennis on 56, which was an awesome effort from the trio in the conditions.

My tips for trades would be get Jack Bird (Sharks) if you don't already have him, with the youngster averaging 54pts per round.

And a final word of advice I would think about trading out Trent Hodkinson (Bulldogs), his value has dropped $18k so far and he hasn't been getting enough ball to put Fantasy points on the board.
