Young gun Jack Bird is set to become the 499th Sharks first grade players after being chosen on the interchange bench for the match with the Gold Coast Titans at Remondis Stadium on Saturday.
Bird has been named on a five man bench, with the utility earning selection after a strong outing for the Newtown Jets in the NSW Cup last weekend.
In other team news, Wade Graham will fill the vacant number six jersey in place of the suspended Ben Barba, while Anthony Tupou, perhaps the Sharks most potent attacking player over the first three rounds, moving into the starting side after playing off the bench during the first three rounds.
Sharks forward Chris Heighington has also won promotion in into the starting team in his 250th NRL match, albeit in the unfamiliar number 10 jersey.
The Sharks take on the Titans on Saturday with both teams desperate for a result after three straight losses to start the season.
The match is scheduled for a 5.30pm kick off, with the NYC getting underway at 3.15pm. Gates to Remondis Stadium open at 3.00pm.
