The Sharks NRL squad was swamped by the more than 3,000 fans in attendance at the Season Launch and Fan Day held at Remondis Stadium on Sunday.
Members and fans had the opportunity to get up close with their favourite Sharks players, with most of them remaining on the field for over 90 minutes signing autographs, posing for photos and mingling with the crowd, at a successful event officially launching the 2015 season.
The day began with the Sharks Junior rep teams being introduced to those in attendance, with the NYC and NRL sides then taking part in a stretching and active recovery session on the Remondis Stadium field.
After that it was the Holden Cup under-20’s who were presented to the crowd, followed by the entire NRL squad, with coach Shane Flanagan responding to a couple of questions posed by event MC’s Sonia Lewis and Mark Warren.
A giant team photo was then taken, with ‘team’ being the appropriate word as player and staff were joined by the members and fans in the stadium acting as the perfect backdrop.
From there it was onto the field as the players gave up their time to interact with their fans on a bright and sunny Sunday at Remondis Stadium.
Outside of the activities on the playing field the kids were kept well entertained by the amusement rides on the Family Hill, a number of sponsor activations and giveaways were also taking place, with the Sharks merchandise van, stocked with Paul Gallen’s G-Train apparel, inundated with excited fans.
The day was the perfect introduction to what promises to be an exciting season ahead for the Sharks.
