Three Sharks in All Stars
The Sharks will provide two players to the NRL team and one to the Indigenous side for the upcoming All Stars match set down for February 13 on the Gold Coast.

Michael Ennis and Paul Gallen have both been included in coach Wayne Bennett’s NRL All Stars team, where they will come into direct opposition with club mate and Indigenous squad member Ben Barba.

The All Stars match, which dropped off the rugby league calendar in 2014 to make way for the inaugural NRL Auckland Nines, returns and is again sure to be a spectacle with plenty of talent on show.

Changing the narrative
New Sharks CEO Lyall Gorman has hit the ground running in his new job at the Sharks, opening communication channels with the fans and implementing new initiatives in trying to steer the club into a successful 2015 and beyond.

His appointment gained widespread coverage, even as far away as the UK, where British Sports business website SportsPro recently requested a one-on-one interview.

Gorman spoke of his desire to ‘change the narrative’ at the Cronulla club and to get the local community, as well as the business and sporting world, to begin speaking about the Sharks in positive terms following on from the difficult times endured over the past few seasons.

A link to the Q and A interview with Gorman, which appeared both in the printed form and on the SportsPro website, has been provided below.

Junior rep trial times
The Sharks Matthews Cup and SG Ball teams are in action this Friday night (January 23) when they take on the Balmain Tigers in their first trial matches of 2015.

The games will be played at TG Milner Oval at Marsfield, with the under 16’s Matthews Cup match at 5.00pm, followed by the Under 18 SG Ball at 6.30pm.

The Shark have been conducting a series of ‘holiday extra’ training programs during the school holiday period, with the sessions run by the Sharks new Elite Player Development coach John Morris.

The recently retired Morris, who is now heading down a coaching path, has exposed the young Sharks hopefuls to a range of skills and rugby league coaching drills that they may not have previously had access to.

The remaining junior rep trials before season kick off on February 14, include matches against Canberra in Canberra on January 31 and games with the Newcastle Knights at a local Sutherland Shire venue (Yet to be confirmed) on February 7.

The Sharks junior rep teams have a round one bye and commence their seasons with games on February 21.

Also during February the Sharks will be organising a number of trial hit outs for our 14s, 15s, and 17s Academy sides.
