Fittingly the final game after two weekends of Cronulla-Sutherland District Junior League Grand Finals came down to a golden point finish, with a try in extra time seeing the Gymea 16 Division 2 team score a nail-biting victory.

It was an exciting end to the 2014 Junior League season, one in which every Grand Final, in every age group, was contested on the main field at Remondis Stadium.

While the 14-10 overtime win to Gymea will stick in the minds of those who were there to see it, that game being just one of many memorable grand finals held on both Saturday and Sunday, with all players treated to the opportunity of playing their biggest game of the year on the field used by their NRL heroes.

The second weekend of Grand Finals began on the Saturday, with two games running concurrently on Mini League fields, the under 8C’s and Under 8B’s, with all four teams doing themselves and their clubs proud with their attitude and enthusiasm.

The junior league season was again being hailed as a successful one, with Sharks junior league secretary Judd O’Shea saying that more than 3800 registered players from 14 clubs had taken part.
