Sharks fullback Michael Gordon has been justly rewarded for his outstanding efforts in 2014 by being chosen alongside Andrew Fifita and Luke Lewis in the initial train-on squad for the upcoming Four Nations Tournament and Prime Minister’s XIII match against Papua New Guinea.

The squad was announced today by Australian selectors and head coach Tim Sheens.

The only player in the Sharks squad to run out for all 24 NRL games in 2014, Gordon will be ready and able to play if chosen, however Lewis and Fifita missed the back half of the season and would need to prove their fitness before being selected to take part.

Fifita and Lewis were both a part of the Australian World Cup squad last year, with Lewis injuring a shoulder during the tournament.

The squad contains a mix of experienced stars along with new talent including Anthony Milford, Jack Wighton, Jarrod Croker and Will Hopoate.

Each week players will be added to the squad as teams are eliminated from the Finals series and a final squad for the Prime Minister’s XIII game will be announced on September 29.

The Prime Minister’s team will play the PNG Kumuls at Kokopo on Sunday, October 12, with the Four Nations squad to be announced following this game.
