It wasn’t the fairy tale ending he might have hoped for, with John Morris officially announcing his retirement yesterday.
A serious neck injury, ironically suffered in his 300th NRL game back in round 11, has failed to show any significant signs of improvement, with Morris putting his family and future health first in hanging up the boots after 14 seasons at the top level.
Morris spoke to Sharks TV a day after making his announcement, covering off on his rugby league journey, his 300th game and the celebrations that accompanied it, which turned out to be his farewell appearance, as well as his future coaching aspirations.
