Sharks donation appreciated out west

A donation of ‘Sharks packs’ to the Country Rugby League were greatly appreciated when handed to the winners at a Primary School gala day held in Brewarrina in central NSW
In all 2,000 sharks packs were passed onto the CRL to take and distribute to the bush, to be used as prizes at various events throughout country NSW.
At the Primary School Gala Day at Brewarrina nine schools took part in two divisions, including Brewarrina Central School Boys, Brewarrina Central School Girls, St Patrick’s Brewarrina, Walgett and small Schools Enngonia, Carinda, Quambone and Marra Creek in the years 3-4 division, while Brewarrina CS, St Patrick’s Brewarrina, Walgett and Goodooga Central School participated in the year 5-6 event.
The eventual winners were Brewarrina Central School in the 3/4 competition and Walgett Primary School in 5/6.
A High School Gala Day followed.
Former NRL player Ronny Gibbs played a huge part in helping to distribute the Sharks prize packs, collecting them from the Sharks home base before taking them on their journey to the far west of the state.
The Sharks also distributed around 60 pairs or shorts and jerseys to needy communities in country NSW through Simon Dirs of the David Peachey Foundation.
