Sharks blitz local schools

In partnership with NRL development officers and club community staff the Sharks visited 10 local schools and over 2,500 students during a four-day Community Carnival blitz this week.

NRL squad members including Chad Townsend, Sam Tagataese, Nathan Gardner and young gun Michael Lichaa were among the players who took part in the schools blitz which helped to deliver the NRL’s Anti-bullying program.

The Sharks players spoke candidly to the primary school students regarding the anti-bullying message while also talking to the excited youngsters about the Sharks and the season ahead.

The Sharks will again be delivering the anti-bullying program from February 20 to 22 at schools in Tamworth leading into the trial match against Newcastle and as a continuation of the NRL’s Community Carnival.

The program will continue to be available throughout the year, with schools interested in having it delivered during 2013 encouraged to contact Matt Tope from the NRLD at CLICK HERE TO EMAIL
