Sharks Fan Day fun!

Sharks Fan Day fun!

The sun shone, the stars of the Sharks NRL squad came out and the fans turned up in droves with crowd estimates at around 2,500 at the first Sharks Fan Day for 2013.

Held on the back training fields at Sharks Stadium, the Fan Day featured a number of activities including the ‘Shark’ jumping castle, the bungy jump experience and some skills and drills run by the ARLC development officers, assisted by Sharks NRL and under 20’s players.

Sharks corporate partners Lonsdale and Fitness First were also in attendance with some special giveaways for the fans but the big crowd came to meet the players – and they weren’t disappointed when the current 2013 NRL squad arrived fresh from a morning recovery session to sign autographs and mingle with the Sharks members and supporters.

Minus only those players who were in Brisbane on duty at the NRL All Stars event, the likes of Michael Gordon, Luke Lewis and Jonathan Wright met their new fan base for the first time with the rest of their Sharks teammates, however the biggest welcome was probably reserved for former Tiger and current Footy Show cast member Beau Ryan.

Beau, who is looking to let his football create the headlines this year rather than leaving that solely to his television exploits, happily posed for photographs and signed autographs for more than an hour, while at the same time accepting the well wishes of the fans in relation to the season ahead.

In all it was a successful event, with the number in attendance giving the players a clear indication of the loyal support they can expect throughout the 2013 season.
