Shane Flanagan – 2013 the season ahead

With 2012 now history and the attention of the Sharks firmly focused on 2013, head coach Shane Flanagan has every reason to be positive about what the future might bring.

Boasting a player roster bolstered by the likes of Luke Lewis, Michael Gordon, Beau Ryan, Chris Heighington and Jonathan Wright, added to the current crop which includes Australian back rower Paul Gallen and Origin five eighth Todd Carney, Flanagan realises expectations will be high at the Sharks next season.

However as he explains to Sharks TV, Flanagan has his team exactly where he wants to them to be and is set to embrace the predictions which go with a team ready to challenge the competition heavyweights.

Part one of the Flanagan interview saw him encouraged by a lot of went on during the year just gone but at the same disappointed 2012 ended when it did.

In part two, before jetting out on an end of season holiday and prior to sitting down to finalise and formally plan the 2013 training schedule, Flanagan spoke about a number of things relevant to the season ahead.

Where do Gordon and Ryan fit into his plans? How about Gallen, Heighington and Lewis?

He may not reveal all but he does give away a few hints.
