Push towards 10,000 continues

The goal of 10,000 members seemed a long way off when the Sharks 2013 membership campaign was launched prior to Christmas.

Considering the Sharks had less than 5,000 members in 2012, an increase in excess of 100 per cent was certainly a lofty goal.

An exciting player roster after strong off-season recruitment, complementing a team which qualified for the finals last year for the first time since 2008 and Sharks fans had every reason to feel optimistic about the season ahead.

And they have acted on that anticipation and shown their passion and support by jumping on board as members for 2013 in big numbers, with the current count of 6,400 some 68 per cent above the FINAL membership figure for season 2012.

However with the increased demand comes greater importance on not leaving a decision to become a Sharks ticketed member too late, with Category 1 seats (ET Stand Upper) already at capacity and Category 2 (ET lower) not far away.

Longtime Sharks players including skipper Paul Gallen have always said a full Sharks Stadium with loud and enthusiastic fans cheering them on, is almost worth extra points on the board. Classy recruits such as Luke Lewis, Beau Ryan and Chris Heighington would echo those thoughts from previous experiences of playing in from of large crowds.

Now with the Sharks membership numbers rising, guaranteeing big home game crowds each week, the Sharks NRL team is set to emulate the NRL’s heavyweights with a full stadium of vocal fans cheering them on.

So if contemplating a season seat at Sharks Stadium in 2013, don’t be disappointed and act now. Ticketed memberships are available in the ET Lower (don’t delay) and in the Southern and Peter Burns Stands as well as in the Eastern Concourse.
