A head injury to second rower Reece Williams is causing concern, with the local Sharks junior being kept under observation in St Vincent’s Hospital after taking ill as a result of a concussion in the game against Parramatta last Sunday.
Williams, who staggered from the field following a seemingly innocuous incident in the first half of the Eels clash, had headaches and nausea later that night and after consulting Sharks medical staff was admitted to hospital on Monday.
MRI scans have since revealed bruising to the brain, however tests have indicated their will be no long term damage as a result of the injury and he is expected to make a full recovery.
Williams will be out of action for an extended period however an exact time frame on his return to the field is unknown at this time.
