NSW CUP:
The Hisense Sharks NSW Cup side took on the Shellharbour Dragons at Ron Costello Oval on Sunday afternoon and unfortunately came away with more than a 22-18 loss.
Having scored a try earlier in the match, Sharks second rower, Reece Williams, later suffered a heavy concussion after being tackled with the ball.
Williams was taken to Wollongong Hospital as a precautionary measure and has since been transferred to St Vincents Hospital.
"Obviously it's terrible news but it's too early at this stage to know how serious it is," Sharks NSW Cup coach, Tony Herman said.
"The guys are pretty upset about it at the moment, there's a lot of concern across the club."

JUNIOR REPS:
It was mixed fortunes for the Sharks junior reps, with the SG Ball Sharks scoring a resounding 50-10 victory over the Illawarra Steelers, while the Matthews Cup squad was on the wrong end of a similar scoreline in going down 44-6 to their south coast rivals.
The SG Ball Sharks went to the break with a 32-0 lead with the backline running hot, with three more second half tries seeing the Sharks put themselves in a handy position to qualify for the up-coming semi-finals with just three rounds remaining.
While it may have been the Ball forwards laying the platform, it was the Sharks halves and outside backs who were the beneficiaries, with five eighth Sam Clune crossing for two tries in addition to landing seven goals. Winger Zach Rasmussen also crossed the line twice, while Nesiasi Mataitonga was a constant menace at fullback.
In the Matthews Cup clash the Sharks went to half time behind but just six at 12-6 down, however they had no answer to the slick Illawarra side in the second 30-minute period, with the Steelers touching down for a further six tries in running away with the match. Front rower Daniel Byrne had his best game of the 2010 Matthews Cup season for the Sharks and was duly rewarded with the Player's Player award for his efforts.
Prior to the junior rep fixtures kicking off the Sharks Academy contested matches at Toyota Stadium in the under 17's and 15's age groups against the Sydney Roosters. Both matches were closely fought, with the under 17's Sharks grabbing a late try to level their match, while the 15's were narrowly defeated by the Roosters. The Sharks teams were made up entirely of players from local district junior league teams.
The Sharks Matthews Cup and SG Ball teams next week tackle the Roosters in matches to be played at Henson Park.
