Working with and in the community is an essential part of the Sharks Have Heart community initiative. We are focused on achieving a lasting positive relationship with our community and charity partners. Our community strategy and programs have been recognised by the National Rugby

League (NRL) as the benchmark program for all NRL Clubs. Each year we reach more than 250,000 people directly with our programs. Through a combination of social impact, pathway innovation and community engagement activities we make a difference by educating the community with the support of our NRL and Women’s players.

We are very grateful recipients of exceptional support, enthusiasm and passion from a number of devoted Members and fans from within the community. In return, the players, staff and many of our supporters highly value the work they can do and are very aware of their responsibility to make a positive difference and assist those in need.

We actively support local community programs, which aim to benefit the people of the Shire, and guide them to make healthy and safe lifestyle choices. Through our Sharks Have Heart programs we aim to:

Promote inclusivity, diversity, anti-violence and anti-bullying;

Improve self-esteem, peer support and responsible decision making;

Positively impact physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing of youth in the Shire, Riverina and beyond.

The Sharks Have Heart programs and partnerships are identified through key focus areas.

Centre of Excellence

And to help ensure the Club's future, we’re currently raising funds to build a true ‘Centre of Excellence’ that goes beyond football… one that will help us maintain a high level of elite performance on the field, but will also be home to all our off-field community programs. We're even offering 'Foundation Supporters' the chance to have their names immortalised on a digital ‘Living Wall’ in the foyer of the new building, as well as in the foyer of our Leagues Club.

Sharks Have Heart also has a standard donation and player appearance policy, which seeks to provide a fair and equitable opportunity to access Sharks players.

We kindly ask that you please follow the correct procedures to ask for assistance as outlined on the Community Requests webpage.
