Hisense Sharks coach Shane Flanagan has called for more of the same in defence and better execution in attack ahead of Saturday's clash against Wests Tigers at Leichhardt Oval.
The newly-appointed coach named an unchanged squad for the Round 21 showdown on Tuesday following his side's narrow loss to Canberra last weekend.
But while happy to reward his players for their efforts against the Raiders, Flanagan made it clear he expects results in the coming weeks.
"I put it to them that if they give me the effort I'll reward people that put the effort in," Flanagan said.
"We didn't get the result but the effort was there - this week I need a result. It might be a bit different in the weeks to come but I've stuck by that same team."
"We'll assess every game and we're just going to treat it as a six-week competition and go from there."
"Last week I was really happy with our defence obviously. This week I just need to make sure that we make those one-on-one tackles and we created a couple of opportunities against the Raiders, so we need to take our opportunities in offence and just continue our defensive pattern."
Quizzed on his expectations for the remaining six matches of the campaign, the coach stressed the importance of establishing a winning culture.
"Obviously we're going to be competitive but we want to win football games," he said.
"We're going to take it match by match and try and win every one. We probably won't win every game but we're going to go in preparing like we're going to win every one."
Flanagan is under no illusions, however, with the Sharks facing arguably the toughest run home of any side in the competition.
"Every team we're against is in the eight bar Melbourne but they're still an outstanding team," he said.
"So we've got a big job and this week the Tigers at Leichhardt is a huge job with the way they attack."
"We've just really got concentrate on ourselves, get our defence right and play with a bit of the same attitude we played with in attack on the weekend."
But while respectful of Tim Sheens' men, Flanagan is adamant Leichhardt Oval holds no fears for his players.
"I don't think it's too much of an advantage to the Tigers," he said.
"They like playing there but so do we. We've always had good results there and the boys can't wait to play there."
The Tigers welcome back full-back Wade McKinnon, winger Beau Ryan and second-rower Gareth Ellis after the trio missed Sunday's heavy loss to Manly through injury.
